  1. Wilder’s movies, like Tarantino’s early movies, were terrific at creating root-for-able scumbag characters (especially Walter Neff and Chuck Tatum). And as good as Franz Waxman’s score is in this and the other movies you mention, my favourite is the one for ‘Bride of Frankenstein.’
