A Streetcar Named Desire (46:37)

Streetcar 2The 40th Top 100 Project podcast is filled with Method acting and Marlon Brando’s screams of “Stella!” The flick is sexy, it’s violent, it’s controversial, and it’s very complicated. It’s also one of AFI’s more memorable pictures. Stranger, activate your kindness!

  1. STELLA!!

Jill and I just watched this one 2 or 3 weeks ago, so it’s pretty fresh. And yeah, as far as whether or not an off-camera beating happens, I was nodding along with Bev even before you went to intermission. And I’ve always thought the best thing about the “kindness of strangers” line is the song it inspired in the Simpsons version. Streetcar!
