Some Like It Hot

The AFI’s most revered comedy is the 55th edition of the T100P. Billy Wilder’s screwball cross-dressing flick has a fantastic trio in the starring roles (Monroe, Curtis and especially Lemmon). It’s also one of the most enjoyable movies on this list. Go to it!

  1. I love this very fun movie, but I’ve never found that last line as funny as most do. “For security!” and Joe’s predictions about the “future” have always made me laugh much harder. Also, HUGE Jack Lemmon fan over here, especially in GGGR and Wine and Roses.

Also, if you like 7YI’s shots of 1955 NYC, you should check out ‘Niagara’ for more Monroe and a quite underdeveloped 1953 Niagara Falls, Ontario.

    1. I saw Niagara a long time ago, but don’t remember it. There’s a quaintness to seeing cities you know pretty well as they were many decades ago. That goes for Toronto as well. And as for that last line in SLIH, I think we agree that the whole “security” scene with the maracas is the funniest sequence in the whole flick.
