Singin In The Rain

Our 43rd Top 100 podcast is an almost perfect musical! Even hard-hearted musical-dislikers have got to surrender to this one. Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds, Donald O’Connor and friends certainly wowed us. You too? Come on…you too!

  1. I had thought I had the trivia question, except instead of Spike Lee (or Tarantino), I had Sydney Pollack, who plays Dustin Hoffman’s agent in Tootsie. While I would accept disqualification as it is not a “starring” role, it is certainly not a cameo. (Granted I haven’t seen it in years and may be remembering it as more significant role than it is.) My question is whether you actually considered it and disqualified it, or just didn’t think of it. Just curious. Love the podcast.

    1. Thanks for loving our ‘cast, sir! You make a very good point. Pollack and Tarantino both come closer to bonafide supporting roles than cameos. I did use the “starring role” phrase very deliberately though because I figured someone might think of somebody I had entirely forgotten. And, to be honest, I forgot about ol’ Sydney in Tootsie. Good thing he wasn’t the headlining star or I’d have to accept being flat-out wrong! Good debate on this one, in any case.
