Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story (2004)

This one gets an R rating.

The lucky lucky 13th ep of Scoring At The Movies whips rubber balls at your head (and sometimes your nads) and gabs about the True Underdodgeball Story. Vince Vaughn is practically catatonic, but Ben Stiller is unquestionably committed to the comic cause…and nails the best lines. It’s a fun flick, but just like most of the humorous sports pictures we’ve covered, it’s a pretty shallow enterprise. Chris & Ryan went off on a record-setting number of tangents in this one, sharing personal experiences about dodging, dipping, diving & ducking (not to mention dodging) and also about steroid-using smear artists like Lance Armstrong. So bleed your own blood and ear up our chattage.

For The Record: Alan Tudyk’s work as K-2S0 in Rogue One is not “stop motion”, of course, but “motion capture”. Also, Chris Williams had already played Krazee Eyez Killa on Curb Your Enthusiasm before he was in Dodgeball. And Ben Stiller was also nominated for a Razzie in Envy in 2004, along with the movies mentioned.
